Our story
A Valley companywith a very plain name.
We clean carpet, upholstery, and tile & grout in Los Angeles homes. That’s the whole job description, and it’s also, more or less, our name.
Why the name is so plain
People sometimes ask why we didn’t pick something catchier. The honest answer is that every clever name made you work to figure out what we do. LA Carpet Cleaning Company doesn’t. It’s painted on the side of the van, it’s how we answer the phone, and it’s a promise we can actually keep: we clean carpets (and sofas, and grout) in Los Angeles.
It also keeps us honest. A name like that leaves no room to hide behind. If the carpet doesn’t look better when we leave, there’s nothing else for the company to be about.
Why we only do three things
Most cleaning companies list a dozen services, plus “and more.” We decided early to do three: carpet, upholstery, and tile & grout. They share the same core skill, which is getting soil out of something porous without damaging it, and they share the same tools. Doing fewer things means everything on the van is there for a reason, and every job builds on the last one.
The best compliment isn’t “wow.” It’s forgetting we were there, until you walk across the living room barefoot.
What Los Angeles does to a floor
Cleaning carpet here is not the same as cleaning it in Seattle or Chicago. LA has its own set of problems, and we built our process around them:
- Santa Ana dust. Fine, dry grit blows in every fall and winter and works its way to the base of the pile, where it wears fibers down like sandpaper.
- Beach sand. From Santa Monica to anyone who spent Saturday in Malibu. Wet sand is much harder to remove than dry, so it has to come out before any water goes down.
- Hard water. Mineral film on shower tile and grout that no amount of mopping fixes.
- Sun. Big windows are a gift, and they fade fabric and carpet faster than anything we can clean.
- Stone floors. Travertine and marble are everywhere from Encino to Calabasas, and they react badly to the acidic cleaners most people reach for.
None of this is exotic. It just means paying attention, and choosing the right product for the actual problem in front of us.
How we work
Six things you canhold us to.
The price, in writing
Before we start. If something changes once we’re working, we stop and ask. You never find out at the door.
The honest version
If a stain is permanent or a fabric is risky, we say so before you pay for it. Even when that means a smaller job.
Your home, protected
Corner guards, furniture pads and shoe covers. We leave your place the way we found it, minus the dirt.
Your time, respected
We show up inside the window we gave you, and if traffic on the 405 has other plans, we call ahead.
Only what the job needs
Products matched to the fiber, used sparingly and rinsed out properly. Safe for kids and pets once dry.
Small on purpose
We’d rather do fewer homes well than more homes in a hurry. That’s the whole business model.
Where we work
Based in Van Nuys. Twenty-five miles in every direction.
Our home base is Van Nuys, ZIP 91401, close to the middle of the San Fernando Valley. From there we cover roughly 25 miles: west through Encino, Calabasas and Westlake Village to Thousand Oaks; east through Sherman Oaks and Studio City to Los Feliz and Pasadena; and south over the hill to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
Staying inside that circle is deliberate. It keeps drive times sane, which keeps us on schedule and means we know the neighborhoods we work in. See every area we serve.
